What is The Administrative Fire Services Section?

What is The Administrative Fire Services Section (AFSS) is a professional membership network that supports fire service administrative professionals in California, providing them with valuable resources, trainings, networking opportunities, and a platform for collaboration. AFSS was officially founded in 1989 as a section of the California Fire Chiefs Association.

HOW TO Become a member

 

The Administrative Fire Services Section (AFSS) is a recognized section of the California Fire Chiefs Association  and are divided into a Northern and Southern Division.  Your membership fee is for one year, July to June. When signing up, look below to ensure that you are joining the appropriate Division based on your county.

The Northern Division represents the following counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Mono, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba.

NEW PROCESS FOR MEMBERSHIPS: Beginning July 1, 2025, all AFSS memberships will be processed through the California Fire Chiefs Association website linked above. Note that there are three membership types, Active, Associate, and Life. Please read carefully the description of each to ensure that you are signing up for the appropriate membership.
