Please join us for the upcoming North Quarterly Meeting and Training:

The AFSS North Quarterly Meeting and Training is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, 2022, hosted by South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue.

SLTFR's Fire Chief, Jim Drennan, will welcome the group around 9am.

Please see attached agenda prepared for you to review beforehand.

We are excited to share the Education and Training Committee has coordinated with Cal OES to bring to you a specialized training opportunity created just for AFSS regarding the Mutual Aid Reimbursement System (MARS):

The Mutual Aid Reimbursement System (MARS) is a web based application that will be managed by Cal OES and utilized by all fire agencies that respond under the California Mutual Aid System.

The intent of this program is to make reimbursement under the California Fire Assistance Agreement (CFAA), housed under one platform that is easily accessible to Cal OES, the paying entities, and the responding fire agencies.

Please bring a laptop to optimize your training experience!

Although attendance in person is encouraged, a Zoom* link is included in the agenda for those who cannot make it to the training but would like to hear the content.

*Please noteIf attending via Zoom, registration is still necessary along with the registration fee.

Need a hotel reservation?

A room block has been set up for attendees traveling out the area to join us. Come to training and stay at the Hotel Azure which is just a couple of blocks away from the training center but also walking distance to the lake.

To take advantage of the rate, call the hotel directly (their local number is 530-542-0330) to make your reservations and say you are with the California Fire Chiefs Association to receive a rate of $90 per night plus tax. This rate is good for June 22nd and 23rd.

Additionally, attached are the latest Treasurer reports for March and April, the language for the Bylaws change/vote, and upcoming meeting dates. The March quarterly meeting minutes are available for your review and vote/approval.

LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED!

BBQ lunch will be provided by the SLTFR Firefighters!

Lastly, Tahoe weather is always changing, please bring layers and be prepared for cooler weather.

Thanks for registering and we are looking forward to seeing you in June!
